PEMF Therapies - Energy Medicine
When it comes to understanding health, aging, disease and how our bodies function it is critical to understand the importance of mitochondria. Mitochondria are essentially the “battery packs” of our cells and our mitochondrial health determines most biological functions in the body. How many mitochondria you have and how strong they are effects everything you do- from performing better and fighting disease, to living longer. There are several lifestyle choices one can make to improve their mitochondrial health such as dietary choices or IV supplementation, but what if you could charge up your mitochondria directly?
This is essentially the mechanism by which PEMF therapies work to heal the body. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) operates by transferring energy to the cells of our body in order to improve their functioning and trigger desired biological effects. PEMF is used to improve functions like:
- Rate of Injury Healing
- Immune Funciton
- Physical Energy
- Bone Healing and Density
- and more...
At Emerald Wellness Integrative Health Clinic we utilize a number of state of the art PEMF devices such as the ONDAMED Biofeedback system in order to address patient symptoms.
What is PEMF Therapy?
PEMF therapy uses bursts of low-level electromagnetic radiation to heal damaged tissues and bone, relieve injury-related pain, stimulate organs, and promote overall health. Electromagnetic pulses at low frequencies pass through the skin and penetrate deep into muscle, bones, tendons, and even organs to activate the cell’s energy and encourage its natural repair mechanisms. PEMF is a non-invasive way to approach injuries, chronic pain, and even chronic conditions like depression and diabetes.
Medical research is making it apparent that just about any pathology in the body is preceded by a drop in cell charge. Now we have technology that can target at the level of a cell that has lost charge and improve cellular energy. This allows the cell to then replicate and produce a healthier cell. So, by introducing a low-level electromagnetic field into the body we are able to raise the energy levels of poorly functioning cells and restore healthy electrochemical exchanges.
Hold on, are EMF’s Dangerous?
It is becoming evident that certain electromagnetic fields can indeed be harmful to our bodies. EMFs from things like wireless routers, microwaves, and airplanes may disrupt our biology. Certain EMFs can alter your DNA, and leave your cells not really knowing what to do, which can result in many negative health effects, such as constant fatigue.
PEMF Therapy is very different due to the frequency and duration of the EMF fields. As with most things in medicine dosing is everything.
EMFs fall on a wide spectrum. Everything from x-rays to wireless phones emit EMFs at different frequencies. High Frequency EMFs, such as X-rays that emit frequencies in the hundred quintillion hz range, are the most damaging to your body. Our bodies are not meant to receive sources of energy so concentrated and powerful.
The therapeutic frequencies of PEMF therapy mimic the frequencies our bodies commonly experience in nature, and therefore our physiology knows how to deal with the energy. Most PEMF Treatments fall in the 5-30 Hz range, which is less that one would receive during a thunderstorm. Furthermore, PEMF therapy is pulsed and brief so that the patient is able to reap all of the benefits of PEMF energy without the negative effects produced by man-made EMF sources like electronics.
Restore your Cells Natural Energy
The ONDAMED system is one of the most advanced PEMF technologies available today. It is is a biofeedback device that a medical practitioner uses to determine which frequencies of sound, as well as the accompanying weak pulsed electromagnetic fields, cause a response in a patient's autonomic nervous system. Temporary stimulation by these frequencies, combined with the patient's cognitive and non-cognitive participation, promotes relaxation, muscle re-education, and rehabilitation that returns the body to its former state of wellness.
