ABOUT DERMAPEN® MICRONEEDLING
Dermapen® skin needling is one of the most innovative rejuvenation therapies available today for treating various skin issues.
It is very natural that as we age the production of the fibroblast cells that stimulate the growth of collagen and elastin diminishes. This results in sagging skin, fine lines, and uneven skintone/texture.
Dermapen® skin needling creates micro-injuries which trigger your skin’s self repair mechanisms. This increases the production of new collagen, also called collagen induction therapy, revealing smoother, firmer and younger looking skin over time.

It is recommended to have a 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results. Maintenance treatments can be repeated as often as desired.

Your skin may be red and feel warm, similar to a sunburn. This feeling should subside within 24 hours. Possible residual redness that can last for up to 7 days. You may feel a sandpaper-like texture on the skin and there is a possibility that your face will show a grid like stamping effect, this will naturally slough off over the next 7 days.

At Emerald Medispa a variety of comfort measures are available. Numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to ensure a comfortable experience.

After any treatment in our clinic we suggest wearing sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Cleanse with a gentle cleanser if you have flaking or peeling. Do not pick or exfoliate and avoid the use of products containing retinol or acid for at least 5 days.
